Katie McCarty is a therapist and licensed social worker who specializes in working with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of life issues and mental health concerns, including anxiety, panic disorder, chronic depression, bipolar disorder, grief, attachment trauma, gender identity and unstable self-esteem. Katie's work with clients focuses on creating a safe therapeutic space where her clients feel understood and affirmed while learning to use self-knowledge in order to feel better, move towards goals and recognize resiliency. Katie greatly enjoys her work in guiding and collaborating with her clients to engage in the healing process on their own terms. She uses a client-centered approach that is attunement-focused but can also be mutual, playful and challenging to her clients.

Katie has post-graduate training from the Lakeview Center for Psychotherapy in integrative psychodynamic therapy and uses skills based modalities including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), CBT and mindfulness to meet her client's issues where they most need support. Katie believes strongly in the power of long term psychodynamic work to help understand the roots of ingrained emotional, behavioral and interpersonal patterns and to transform areas where we feel the most stuck.
